OK...here I go...I've been wanting to start a blog for years. (I actually have a family one that I used to update, but don't really anymore, but that doesn't count!) I'm one of those people who some might call "a jack of all trades, but a master of none". I'm not really an "expert" at anything. So, blogging seemed a bit overwhelming because I wanted to write about and discuss something I was good at and passionate about. Duh!!! READING!! BOOKS!! That's it!! So, instead of procrastinating, like I seem to do a lot, and waiting till I have the perfect ideas, the perfect books to review, the perfect way to express my thoughts, I'm just going to jump right in!
I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and also I let fear dictate a lot of my decisions. Those are things that I'm working on. So, it is a bit intimidating to start something like this, something public, and "critiquable" (I know, not really a word), without a plan, without knowing exactly how it will turn out. I have no idea the direction that this blog will go or what will happen along the way. That is terrifying to someone like me. But, I do know that this is something I need to try to learn and grow and experience new things. Will it be "perfect"? Um, that would be a big fat NO! Will I always sound eloquent and intelligent? Another big fat NO! But, I know that books are my passion, my eternal hobby, my world. I want to share that love, that obsession, that joy.
This journey may just be mine. I might be the only "follower" to my own blog. That's ok. But, if you want to come with me I'd love the company! Those who already know me know that I love to socialize and make new friends and hang out with existing ones! So, please, be my friend, even if it's only virtually and let's talk about my favorite subject, reading!
